Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes
Mmm, coffee. Coffee is definitely the most popular beverage in the world, far more popular than anything else people drink on the face of the earth. There are literally thousands of ways to make this beverage, and coffee shops all over the place have devised their own concoctions for their customers to enjoy. Many of these are hot. I know I drink hot coffee, as does most of the population. But what about coffee that is cold?
The idea of frozen coffee drinks is very strange to some people, who cannot imagine how a drink that is meant to be consumed hot can taste good cold. Believe it or not, frozen coffee drinks are incredibly delicious. These frozen coffee drink recipes will taste great and will provide a new way for you to enjoy a classic drink.
Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes: Frozen Irish Coffee
This recipe takes the famous Irish coffee drink and adds a little twist. Note that this recipe is for adults only because it uses Irish whiskey. If you want to substitute a non-alcoholic drink for Irish whiskey, use Irish cream flavored coffee syrup. It will not have the alcoholic texture, but it will still taste great. You will need:
- 1 ½ ounce of Irish whiskey (or Irish cream syrup)
- 5 ounces of hot coffee (preferably black)
- 2 tablespoons of ice cream (vanilla)
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (sprinkled)
- Milk or dark chocolate (grated)
Add the coffee, sugar, and Irish whiskey to a tall glass filled ¾ of the way with crushed ice. Shake this for 5-10 seconds, then add the ice cream. Sprinkle the cinnamon and chocolate on top and serve. You can also top with whipped cream before sprinkling.
Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes: Island Coffee Paradise
For a beverage with a different kind of taste than your traditional coffee-flavored drink, try this recipe. It uses delectable flavors – chocolate, banana, and strawberry – to complement the iced coffee and create a drink that is divine. You will need:
- 5-5 ounces of coffee, iced
- 3-5 fresh whole strawberries (medium sized)
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 medium-sized, peeled banana
- Whipped cream
- 1-2 ounces of chocolate syrup
- One orange slice
To create this drink, ice your coffee or purchase iced coffee. Take this coffee and put it in a blender along with the banana, strawberries, chocolate syrup, and milk. Blend this together for 20-30 seconds, until you get a creamy texture. Then, put whipped cream on the top. You can cut the orange peel in half and place it on the rim of the glass for a garnish that will add an extra fruity flavor to the mixture.
If you would like to substitute other syrups for the chocolate to reinforce the fruit flavor, then feel free. Suggestions include raspberry, almond, or peppermint-flavored syrup. You can double-up on the strawberry flavor by throwing in strawberry syrup too. Experiment and try different things to find the best frozen coffee drink recipe for you.
